Area Museums

Hamilton House Museum

A restored Dutch farm house, The Hamilton House Museum features three time periods, Victorian, Federal and Early American. Offering “Walk in the Footsteps of the Past”, this living museum encourages its visitors to envision themselves living in the past to learn how people lived, without all the amenities we have available to us today. As you stroll thru the rooms you will also learn some history of the area.

Lambert Castle

Home of Catholina Lambert, one of nineteenth century Paterson’s most prominent silk textile manufacturer, is now home to the Passaic Historical Society including a   library and a museum offering an array of programs including the self-guided tours to view the castle preserved and decorated as it is believed to have been during historical times.

Liberty Science Center

An interactive science museum and learning center located in Liberty State Park in Jersey City, New Jersey; the first major NJ state museum opened its doors in 1993 and offers science exhibits, the largest IMAX Dome Theater in the United States and numerous educational resources.

Montclair Art Museum

Located in Montclair, NJ this wonderful museum boosts a unique collection of Native American and American art, exhibitions, and educational programs that connect this collection to the more modern times of present day on a global level.

Morris Museum

Located at the Twin Oakes Mansion in historic Morristown, the Morris Museum vaunts a permanent collection of more than 40,000 objects including, minerals, rocks and model trains, as well as one of the country’s leading collections of mechanical musical instruments and automata. It is also home to the Bickford Theatre, which shows a variety of plays, concerts, and other performances throughout the year.

Paterson Museum

The launch of the Paterson Museum was in 1925, but it was relocated to its current home in 1982. Mayor Frank X. Graves, Jr. was instrumental in relocating the museum to the Rogers Building, making it the central point of the 119-acre Great Falls Historic District. The museum’s location, situated closely to the nationally famous Great Falls of Passaic, provides a distinctive environment for their exhibits.

Yogi Berra Museum

Since officially opening its doors on Dec. 4, 1998, the YBMLC has become a hugely popular destination for sports fans and educators alike. Yogi Berra’s values, extraordinary accomplishments and lifelong commitment to the education of young people are the inspiration and foundation of the Yogi Berra Museum & Learning Center
